The Pink Picnic is Salford’s annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans & Non-binary, plus pride celebration. The event takes place in Peel Park, Salford and is organised and delivered by Salford Pride.

Our mission is to work to build a stronger, diverse community that celebrates inclusion and equality; where LGBTQ+ people are represented, thrive and live authentically, in our city and beyond.

As The Pink Picnic grows and becomes more popular year on year to ensure public safety and to combat key issues that arise each year, Salford Pride have implemented NEW charges to the entry restrictions. Please ensure to check the new entry restrictions for 2025 of what is permitted and cannot be brought into the event space.

NEW CHANGES FOR 2025

  • Alcohol is no longer permitted to be brought in the event, affordable alcohol options will be available from vendors on site.

  • No trolleys, suitcases or carts to be brought on site. Bags or coolers need to be smaller than 50cmx50cmx50cm.

ENTRY RESTRICTIONS


ACCESSIBILITY 2025

Accessible entry tickets are available for those with a disability that require a quicker queueing experience.

For wheelchair users or those with mobility issues or pastoral care needs, guests can apply for access to our accessibility facilities, such as our accessibility area with accessible toilets, dedicated seating and easier viewing of our main stage. If a guests accessibility needs change on the day of or the week leading up to the event and guests are unable to apply, please speak with a member of the Salford Pride team on entry regarding access needs.

THE HISTORY OF THE PINK PICNIC

The Pink Picnic first started in 2011 as The Peel Park Pink Picnic. Many years later the event has grown into both a national and international recognised pride celebration, that attracts thousands of attendees from across Greater Manchester and beyond, becoming Greater Manchester’s largest grassroots pride celebration.

It all begins with an idea. The Pink Picnic first started in 2011 from the idea to have a get together in the park. The event has grown into Salford’s official annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebration. Salford Pride are looking for local volunteers who wish to either your voluntary committee and support with the planning and delivery for The Pink Picnic year round or wish to volunteer on the day to support Salford Pride and our LGBTQ+ community.
